Maple
Acer platanoides, commonly known as the Norway maple, is a species of maple native to eastern and central Europe and western Asia, from Spain east to Russia, north to southern Scandinavia and southeast to northern Iran.
Maple wood is renowned for its exceptional durability, strength, and aesthetic appeal. The wood boasts a beautiful, uniform grain pattern and a light, creamy colour that lends itself well to a variety contemporary of settings. Artists and craftsmen throughout history have been drawn to the classy allure and malleability of maple, prizing its exceptional grain and clean texture as the perfect canvas for complex carvings, distinctive inlays, and sculptural works.
Maple's versatility is perhaps most celebrated in the world of music, where luthiers have long valued its acoustic properties. The wood's resonance and ability to produce rich tones contribute to the distinctive sound of violins, cellos, and other string instruments crafted from this versatile material.
